Date: 16th May 2024 @ 8:12am
This week, Year 1 have embarked on an exciting adventure to Blackpool Zoo and what a fantastic day it turned out to be!
Blackpool Zoo is home to 1,500 animals and our young explorers couldn't wait to see them all.
We were first greeted by the wonderful variety of bird species, from the vibrant parrots to the elegant peacocks. The flamingos were a prominent attraction with their striking pink feathers and graceful presence.
The excitement continued as we made our way to the sea lion show. The sea lions dazzled us with their tricks and playful antics. We were then treated to the penguin show. The penguins waddled adoringly and dove into the water with impressive agility. Their playful nature made them a favourite among many of the children.
After the show, we proceeded with our tour to uncover even more excitement. The children were fascinated by the tall and graceful giraffes, and then the majestic elephants. The sheer size and grace of these gentle giants left everyone in awe. The lions and tigers, with their powerful presence were a highlight for many. The red pandas, with their cute and curious expressions quickly became another crowd favourite.
To top off our visit, we explored the dinosaur exhibit. The life-sized dinosaur models were incredibly realistic and a big hit with the children. Walking among these prehistoric creatures sparked their imaginations and led to many curious questions about the ancient world.
As we made our way towards the end, we were amazed by the many peculiar animals we discovered, including the kangaroos, chameleons, emus and so many more!
The trip to Blackpool Zoo was an incredible experience for our year 1 class, the children left with big smiles, countless memories and a newfound appreciation for wildlife. We can’t wait for our next adventure!
