Boris the Bear 🐻

Another super week in Year 1!
Year 1 started this week by finding our classroom had been left a mess! We used our investigative skills to find clues to who it was. We received a letter from Boris the Bear explaining he needed help with learning how to be good at school! We decided we would help Boris, but first needed to describe him on a wanted poster to help us locate him. We practised saying our description sentences before writing them. Look out for Boris in Oldham!
In Maths this week, we have been looking at the symbols for 'greater than', 'less than' and 'equal to'. We used counting objects and symbols to create number sentences. We were super at recognising the symbols and reading number sentences out loud!
In Geography, we have been thinking about our local area walk and what human and physical features we saw on the way. We explored Google Earth to see the local area from an 'aerial' view and created our own maps of what we saw. Ask us about what we saw on our walk!
We have had lots of fun in continuous provision this week, from building our houses, to creating cubism-style portraits!
