Week commencing 13th November 

Y5 have had an amazing week! In English, Y5 have started to look at features of a play script and used their skills to perform a scene. They have also looked at concrete and abstract nouns, identifying them in sentences. By the end of the week, Y5 have written a setting description of a stormy sea, using descriptive language to bring the image to life.

In Maths, Y5 have been practising short division to help them convert improper fractions to mixed numbers. They have worked really well in using their timetables to help them with this. 

In science, Y5 used their knowledge of the solar system to help understand how Earth has day and night. We used torches and soft balls to help us understand. 

This week also included Children In Need, Y5 have supported in the bake sale by decorating delicious gingerbread men. #beafundraiser 💛
