Cobbled streets of Victorian London 🍂

Date: 25th Apr 2024 @ 4:33pm

This week has been amazing for Y5! We have been learning more about the life in the streets of Victorian London.

This weeks highlights include:

English

This week we have written a setting description based on our story, Oliver Twist. What did life look like for poor Oliver? Well from our writes, we know that Oliver was walking those cobbled streets of Victorian London for 7 days! Filled with people rushing through these tall structures in the city, leaving Oliver to be taken into the slums. We have used personification, metaphors and similes to bring these scenes to life in our writing.

Spanish

We have completed our unit on La cafeteria in Spanish this week. We completed our assessment and Y5 have shown us what amazing Spanish speakers they are! Muy bien!! #beaspirational

Topic

This week in history, Y5 looked at the key events in the Victorian era. We understood that Queen Victoria had reigned for a very long time and a lot of changes were made during her reign.

Shakespeare

This week, Y5 learned more about Gloucesters' family. Secret plans to overthrow his father, Edmund is on a quest to what is 'rightfully' his and will do whatever it takes, even betraying his beloved brother, Edgar.
