For or Against? 💬

This week has been a busy week for Y5!

In English, we discussed why people may have opposing views about bullfighting. From our discussion we created an argument using persuasive devices to help win our argument. Our debate had great views from highlighting the cultural reasons for bullfighting to the immoral nature of the sport.

In Maths, we are looking at measuring and recognising different angles. We learned how to use a protractor to do this.

Y5 also had an exciting virtual visit with Maddie Moate to discuss her new book, "Stuff". We learned a lot about where she got her inspiration from in her book about how things work.

A few pupils from Y5 attended their CEO bookclub to discuss their book with other schools from the trust. Westwood pupils say they had a great time discussing their views and opinions on the book with other pupils. 📚💚

As part of our PSHE curriculum we looked at the facts and risks of different drugs and thinking about making the right choices in difficult situations. We presented our understanding through drama and posters to say no to harmful substances.
