George Street Chapel 🖌️ #Becreative
Date: 23rd May 2024 @ 12:15pm
This week Y5 have been on a very exciting trip to George Street Chapel to understand more about what life was like for Victorian children in the home and at school. We were greeted by a very stern teacher who showed us why Victorian children were seen and not heard. We learned from Nelly what life was like in the home for Victorian women and what chores were expected to be done. We later washed clothes to hung and dried outside as well as creating our own pegs. After washing, we had school! We were introduced to a headteacher who showed us 9 rules we must follow in school. We ended the day with a carousel of activities which included, toy making, solving a mystery, calligraphy and a jigsaw puzzle. Y5 had mixed reviews of Victorian life but had an amazing day!
