Quest 🧭🗺️

This week in English, Y5 have started their new text called Quest. We noticed this text is unlike any other text we have looked at before. This text is a picture book! We started off by going through the pages of the text, identifying the main characters and creating top trump cards for each character. Using the text, we have also created a comic strip of the story by adding speech bubbles and text to our story. 

In maths, we have completed our unit on fractions. Y5 have worked really hard in adding, subtracting fractions by making the denominators the same, we have also looked at converting improper fractions into mixed numbers and simplifying them.

In science, Y5 have looked at how shadows can change in direction and shape depending on the sun. We used torches and objects in the class to help us understand this. 

This week we also had Freddy Fit come in to show us the importance of exercising. Y5 loved the games that we played to help keep us fit.

To celebrate our ending to The Pirate Queen, Y5 performed their play script in assembly for the whole school. They were absolutely amazing! #beaperformer
