DT in action! 🪡🧵
Date: 12th Dec 2023 @ 11:43am
Y5 have been amazing this week and have worked creatively throughout all areas of the curriculum!
This week in English, Y5 learned about how important it is to follow instructions. To begin with, we learnt about time adverbials and imperative verbs. We played a game of Simon says to help us understand what imperative verbs are. We also worked in pairs to give instructions to our partner to match the grids together. We also understood the importance of diagrams when following a set of instructions, our dragonflies looked more like butterflies when we couldn't see the steps! 🦋 Y5 found features of instructions and researched interesting facts about rhinos to create a fact file by the end of the week.
In Maths, Y5 have continued to develop their understanding of multiplying and dividing using the long multiplication method and using mental maths to help find more efficient ways to solve the equation.
In Science, Y5 have looked and compared the sizes of planets to one another using a fruit model.
This week, Y5 performed so brilliantly for their brass concert, the audience were blown away because of how amazing they were! 🎺 They performed three numbers and included a rap!
Finally, Y5 invited parents in for our final DT lesson of the term. It was lovely to see parents come in to help with sewing their family emblems. 🪡🧵
