Stone Age Stories, Sweet Treats and Splashing Success in Year 3!

Date: 15th Nov 2024 @ 3:47pm

This week in Year 3, we’ve had an action-packed time across all our subjects! Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:

English: To help remember the events of Stone Age Boy, we created a story whoosh, acting out key scenes from the story. It was so much fun to step into the Stone Age Boy’s shoes and imagine how it would feel to find ourselves in a mysterious, ancient place! Afterward, we explored the features of diary writing, identifying key elements to include in our own diary entries.

Maths: We’ve been diving into multiplication and division by making equal groups and creating arrays. These hands-on activities helped us understand how multiplication and division are connected.

History: Our exploration of the Stone Age continued as we worked on a timeline of major historical periods. We learned about significant events following the Stone Age and how they shaped the world we live in today.

Swimming: In our swimming lessons, we’re feeling more confident in the water each week! From big splashes to even bigger jumps, we’re making great progress.

PSHE: In PSHE, we discussed the importance of exercise and why it’s essential to keep our bodies fit and healthy. We talked about activities we can do to stay active and strong.

We ended the week by making chocolate trifles for the school bake sale, raising money for Children in Need. It was a wonderful way to support a great cause!

We’re excited to keep building on our learning next week!
