World Book Day 2022

What a fantastic day we had yesterday for World Book Day! To celebrate the power of reading and how it can bring us peace and happiness, we wore colours that make us happy. We also brought in our favourite books from home and it was wonderful to listen to the children share them with one another so enthusiastically. Look at our fantastic 'book in a bottle' creations that depict some of our favourite books!

We also loved reading the story 'The Colour Thief' and had some very mature discussions about mental health and what we can do if we are feeling gloomy. The children produced some brilliant writing to describe the dark forest from the story.

On Wednesday, we were also lucky enough to join in a live online drawing session with the much-loved illustrator Nick Sharratt. He guided us through how to draw different characters from his new book and we were blown away by the children's work!
