Year 3’s Fantastic Learning Journey!🤩

Date: 7th Feb 2025 @ 4:01pm

This week has been full of exciting discoveries, creative projects, and engaging discussions in Year 3! From debating whether tourists should visit Pompeii to creating our own fossils, we have been working hard and having lots of fun along the way. Here’s a look at what we’ve been learning:

In English, we have been developing our persuasive writing skills. One of our favourite activities was a class debate about whether people should visit Pompeii. We also took part in a conscience alley, where we listened to different viewpoints. Both sides had strong arguments, but in the end, we decided that tourists should not visit Pompeii because they are damaging this ancient city.

In maths, we have been learning how to measure length in metres, centimetres, and millimetres. We had a great time comparing our heights, foot lengths, and the lengths of our jumps—it was interesting to see the differences!

In art, we let our creativity shine by making volcano collages. We used a variety of textures, colours, and materials to bring our artwork to life. Our finished pieces looked incredible, and we were so proud of our work!

In science, we explored fossils and how they are formed. Did you know that fossils can take millions of years to develop? To bring our learning to life, we even created our own fossils—it was such an exciting activity!

We ended the week by taking part in World Mental Health Day by wearing our favourite colour or a colour that makes us happy, reminding ourselves of the importance of looking after our well-being.

It has been a fantastic week in Year 3, and we can’t wait to see what we will learn next!
